Now
What I'm up to at the moment — a now page. Last updated October 2026.
Building
Ship it, Red is properly up and running: posts on engineering leadership, privacy, and quitting algorithmic feeds for RSS, all in EN and PT-PT. On the side, small tools I actually use: TRMNLcast (pushes Obsidian stats and my Claude Code usage to a TRMNL e-ink screen) and PortfolioProbe (a local-first career brief builder). Also my first upstream contribution: I found and fixed a memory leak in RSS Dashboard, the Obsidian plugin I raved about in Goodbye algorithms, hello RSS (merged, yay).
Learning
Astro and Claude Code, by shipping with both every day. Lately also browser memory debugging — turns out heap snapshots are weirdly satisfying.
Tinkering
Big one: the parts for my DIY NAS are bought and arrive next week, after which I'll happily trade my free time for self-hosting. Meanwhile a Flipper Zero arrived, so I'm putting together the Flipper Awareness Kit: harmless demos that show friends and family why "just plug it in" is a trust decision. The de-subscription project continues — a €50 retro iPod running Rockbox handles all my music and audiobooks. Home Assistant remains ongoing, on purpose.
Life
My wife went back to studying, so there's no basketball season to photograph right now. The camera is patient. So am I, mostly. The writing habit seems to be sticking, now that the blog exists.
